Dear Quiz Families,
Well, it's that time of the year again! We are excited about starting our new year and we have lots of information to pass on to everyone. This will take multiple emails to cover, so please check your email regularly for the next week or so! :-)
First of all, we'd like to welcome some new families that are considering joining us this year-
Bill and Carol Roberts
Glen and Tracy Dargy
Justin and Amy Caldwell
If anyone else has any new families they know that are joining us, please let us know! Quizzing is a great tool for memorizing God's Word, and this is the time of the year to get the word around.
Secondly, it's been awhile since we've updated everyone's information, such as ages, grades, addresses, etc. Attached is our updated 2003 information. You will notice lots of gaps! Please look over both documents carefully and send us your updates asap. For the first file, we only need names, ages & grades (both), email, and telephone. For the second, you'll need to add home address and church. We can figure out the divisions if you aren't sure how that works, just as long as we have their grades. For email and telephone, please add the one that is easiest for you to be reached at if you have multiple options (husband vs. wife email, cell vs landline, etc).
I think everyone knows that the material this year is Romans and James. Although we are still finalizing a schedule with Rochester, I encourage everyone to get started memorizing if you haven't already. This way you are prepared for our first practice, and you have a head start for the year. Congratulations to everyone who has already memorized some. I know of several people who have the first few chapters already! The varsity/JV are memorizing all of Romans and James, the Little League is doing Romans 5, 6, 8 12, 13, James 1-5.
Our first practice will be September 8th. We are still working on a location for this. Immanuel Baptist Church is figuring out whether we can use their facilities again this year, and they'll let us know Monday. This final information, as well as the year schedule, will come in a separate email as soon as we get these details ironed out. With our busy summer and Elizabeth's accident, we've gotten a late start to things, but I'm sure it will all work out soon! Local practice will continue to be on the 2nd and 4th Thursday evenings every month, making accommodations for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Well, I think this is it for now. Most importantly, please look over the attachments and get back to us as soon as possible. This helps us plan for the year, and also aids in figuring out team compositions.
God bless!
Amy Cook
