Dacope Orphanage, Bangladesh – you can help!

Last April, while shooting for World Relief,  we ran across an orphanage in a remote region of Bangladesh which needs your help. Let me explain.

The Dacope Girl’s Orphanage shelters 35 or so girls between the ages of 9 and 15.  A friend of ours, Mark Munshi, Director of the Christian Service Society in Bangladesh, is gathering funds in Europe and the US to support this project.

The girls receive medical attention, meals, education and spiritual nourishment.  They are being trained and prepared to be the future leaders of Bangladesh.  If you could only have a chance to meet them in this far-away jungle in the middle of nowhere, I’m sure they would touch your heart.

Without this refuge and opportunity for educational and spritual growth, many of them would be sold into slavery and forced into the prostitution industry in the Far East.  That’s not going to happen because this is an easy project for us all to do.  It costs only $850. (US) per month to run this entire orphanage – that includes housing, food, clothing – the works.  During my visit in April, future  funding looked bleak.

This is one little part of the world we can certainly change. We have been there and can personally recommend this project as a very worthwhile cause and one which must not fail.

Any donation no matter how large or small can be sent directly to World Relief or the CSS account in Texas. Be sure to write “Dacope Orphanage” on the memo line.
