Why Elysian Fields Software?
One reason is that it sounds nice, at least to me.
For many years, I've made most of my income from developing software and software related materials, hence the Software part of the name.
Elysian Fields has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? It might bring to mind a quiet, peaceful outdoor scene. A place where you might be able to think, ponder, and create.
Elysian Fields is also the location where the first baseball game was played according to rules that we generally associate with baseball. Baseball has traditionally been the national pastime of the United States of America.
These days, software has become, almost, a national pastime, too, but for different reasons. Maybe not as enjoyable as watching the New York Yankees win (almost) another World Series, but software does pass the time for many people, in one way or another!
Therefore, Elysian Fields SoftwareTM.
At this time, it is only a virtual company, perhaps to be expanded in the future.
Since I may want a company someday, I thought I'd start with the company name. Venture capitalists may believe that this is a great name for a company. I thought I'd better reserve the name now, just in case! Business plans can come later.
